AS400 Systems Support

The ideal candidate has a solid working knowledge of the AS400 Operating System, previous System administration experience and is highly self-directed. This position will be involved in initiatives across the leveraged National AS/400 systems. These activities include: Operating system maintenance packaging and implementation and packaging and implementation of third-party products. An internal self-paced training path along with assigned mentoring is available to retool individuals that may be interested from other platforms / operating systems.

Responsibilities:
· Implementation, Integration and Testing of Migrations into SMCs and/or model upgrades
· Software Management: Installations, configurations, upgrades and Preventative maintenance functions
· Performance analysis and tuning
· Capacity planning
· Storage Configurations
· Rotational 24X7 on-call support

Required Skills or Knowledge:
· Loading and applying Program Temporary Fixes (PTFs)
· Operating system upgrade
· Demonstrates an understanding of CL programming
· System Configuration Task (Communications, storage)
