The difficult part of this requirement is that we are not looking for a Tester. If you see things in a resume like Load Runner, Test Director, Winrunner, black box testing, unit testing, etc, that is NOT what the client is looking for.
They are not looking for people to test finished code. What we are looking for is front end Quality Control. This will be things like quality metrics, quality control, quality processes and methodologies. For these people, you will see methodologies like TQM (Total Quality Management), CMM (Capability Maturity Model), Six Sigma, or CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement).
Here is the requirement:
This is not a management role as this person will work as part of a team in conjunction with the Software Quality Assurance Manager to:
1)Coordinate, with project teams, the quality effort for the entire software lifecycle. 2 )Work with the product development team to design for testability, to plan for testing, and plan other quality assurance activities. 3)Create, track, and maintain quality plans and schedules.4)Document and report quality assurance findings to project/program mgrs., development team, follow-up on ongoing test activities. 5)Coordinate and lead reviews and inspections.6)Train IT project team members for inspections 7)Track and analyze historical quality data to predict future performance. 8)Engage in quality assurance and process improvement activities.9)Act as an advocate for quality in the organization.
REQUIRED/ BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Expertise in quality methodology including knowledge of process and methodology to build quality into software.
Expertise in the use and interpretation quality metrics.
Experience with inspection processes
Experience with function point counting a plus
Experience with Oracle Applications functional development/implementation would be a plus
Experience with project management of projects/programs (PMP certification is a plus)
Experience in troubleshooting and monitoring testing operations, project management implementation and coordinating the work of a QA team.
Experience in developing, implementing and reporting quality assurance test plans, procedures and results/findings.
Experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
Experience in a structured testing environment.
Hands-on experience with complex software systems, networking, and databases.
SOFT SKILLS:
Excellent written and verbal communications. Proactive, self starter. Understand software development, testing, and management principles. See the “Big Picture”, but understand the picture’s details. Clearly express concepts to technical and non-technical individuals. Identify, analyze, and report issues and defects to management and customers.
